A look at life on the farm as we raise our oysters toward market size.

The work

How we farm

  1. Seed

Oyster seed goes into mesh bags on our lease on the south flat.

  2. Grow

The bay does the feeding. We turn and sort the bags, keeping fouling in check by hand.

  3. Grade

Every oyster is culled and counted to size.

  4. Harvest & delivery

Contact us to discuss harvest timing and delivery arrangements.

The farmers

Two people. One dream.

Diamond State Oysters is Anthony Feola and James Newlin. We put the seed in, we pull the bags, we drive the truck. When you call, one of us answers.

We started this farm because Delaware’s bays grew great oysters long before us, and they should keep doing it long after.
